It has been ages since I posted a makeup tutorial on the blog. A proper eye makeup look... All thanks to the lockdown. I found this post while just randomly going through the files in my laptop. I had created this look some 6 months back, but well, it didn’t happen. Usually, I prefer subtle colors, but this time I decided to go for something different. Here is the tutorial on my “Teal smoky half-moon” eye makeup.

Step 1: Prepare Your Base
Begin by grooming your eyebrows. This is a crucial step that frames your entire eye area and ensures a polished look.
Step 2: Create the Half-Moon Shape
Start from the middle of your upper lash line. Draw a line curving outwards, imagining you are creating a C shape. This line will define the outer edge of your half-moon.

Step 3: Smudge the Line
Using a smudger brush, quickly smudge the line you just created. This will soften the edges and begin to build the smoky effect.

Step 4: Blend and Define
Now, focus on blending the color outwards and towards the outer corner of your eye. This is where the "smoky" element comes into play. Ensure you maintain the integrity of the C shape you created earlier. This technique is often referred to as "cut-crease eye makeup" because it clearly defines the crease.

Step 5: Add a Golden Liner Accent
To elevate the look, take a golden liner and carefully define the C shape you created. This accent takes the look to a different level, adding a touch of glamour and contrast.

Step 6: Lower Lash Line
Apply kohl to your lower lash line and smudge it out. This balances the dramatic look on the upper lid and adds depth to your eyes.

Exploring Variations
This teal smoky half-moon look is quite different from regular smoky and cut-crease eye makeup styles. It can look dramatic and might seem "not fit for outside" for some, but it is amazing for special occasions or when you want to make a statement. The beauty of this technique is its versatility. You can experiment with different color combinations. For instance, a purple and silver combination looks amazing, and traditional gold and black also looks terrific.

The key is to keep playing with your palettes and brushes to find what suits you best. Time for some pictures!

Hope you like the look!
