Amethyst Eye Makeup Tutorial

It’s a brand new year, and instead of focusing on getting glowing skin or exfoliating away the past, we’re making a resolution to have more fun with beauty. Why just stick to the basics every day? Bright colourful makeup can be one of the best ways to put some life into your look, especially if the rest of your outfit is buried beneath winter layers. We love Annabelle’s affordable vegan and cruelty-free products, so you can expect to see a monthly look with them this year! First up, we decided to channel one of our favourite gemstones into a dreamy lavender eye makeup tutorial. The stone of sweet dreams and wisdom, add some extra sparkle to your eyes with the glittery magic of the amethyst!

Step-by-Step Amethyst Eye Makeup

To begin this enchanting look, start by applying a thin, even layer of primer all over the face and eyelids. This crucial step will ensure your quartz-coloured powders stay put and don't migrate throughout the day.

Applying the Eyeshadows

Next, take the darkest shade, Violet, and apply it to the outer corners of your eyes, blending it carefully into the crease of your lid. This will create depth and definition.

For the center of your lid, use the shade Cloud. Blend this shade well with the Violet shade to create a seamless transition.

To highlight, apply Aura, the lightest shade, to your upper lid and the inner corners of your eyes. This will brighten the eye area and add a touch of sparkle.

Defining the Lower Lash Line and Eyeliner

Using a smaller brush, draw a thin line of Cloud along the outer bottom edge of your eye. This subtle definition will enhance the overall look.

Now, it's time for the eyeliner. Use the Self-sharpening eyeliner to draw on a classic cat eye. The primer applied earlier will help keep the shadow in place as you glide the pencil over it.

For a more dramatic and bold effect, consider using the Metallic Amethyst pencil instead of the standard black or brown.

Finishing Touches: Mascara

Complete the amethyst eye makeup look by finishing off with the Lash-launcher Supernova Mascara. Apply a generous coat to both your upper and lower lashes to add volume and length.
