The Dior Hydra Life Micellar Milk, a 200ml bottle, was purchased from my local Dior beauty counter at Farmers. This particular product was priced at $76. It is the first of the three Dior products I have started using, and I have already finished it. The product description highlights that this micellar milk combines the cleansing power of oil micelles with the nourishing properties of rice milk. Its purpose is to eliminate all traces of makeup and impurities from both the face and the eye contour area. A key feature mentioned is its luxurious texture, which transforms into an emulsion as fine and fresh as water upon contact with the skin, offering gentle comfort without any greasy or sticky sensation.
I was particularly intrigued by the concept of a "micellar milk." Initially, it presents as a cleansing milk with a milky texture and color. It then transitions into a micellar cleanser, becoming translucent, though not quite like water. This product is intended as the first step in a cleansing routine, specifically for makeup removal.
Application and Experience
For application, I typically use about 5-6 pumps of this cleanser onto my dry hands. I then proceed to massage the milky cleanser all over my face. During this process, the cleanser visibly changes from a translucent white milky texture to a semi-translucent milk, mixed with the makeup present on my skin. I dedicate a good 1-2 minutes to massaging it in. While I use it on my eyes, I avoid using it on my lips.
After massaging, there are two options for removal: wiping it off with cotton pads or, as I prefer for a quicker, more thorough, and sustainable clean, rinsing it off with water. Rinsing required a little assistance from my hands due to the product's slippery texture.
Performance and Suitability
Having finished the entire bottle, I can conclude that while the Dior Hydra Life Micellar Milk is very gentle and soothing to the skin, it does not provide a thorough cleanse. It excels as a morning cleanser or for days when you wear minimal makeup or just sunscreen. Individuals with sensitive or dry skin might find this product appealing due to its gentle nature.
Alternative Dior Cleansing Experience: L'Huile OFF/ON
Dior has also reinvented its makeup removers with advanced formulas featuring transforming textures.
