After completing the Fridge Duty mission, speak with Langston again to receive the Langston's Runaways quest. This quest involves locating and cleansing several Altered Items throughout the environment. This guide will focus on how to find and cleanse the Traffic Light, one of the Altered Items.
Locating the Traffic Light
To find the Traffic Light, you will need to fast travel to the Sealed Threshold Entrance. From there, proceed up the staircase of clocks until you reach the Sealed Threshold Hall. This area is filled with clocks and will also contain some enemies.
The Traffic Light itself is located in the Panopticon. Make your way to the fourth floor. At one end of this floor, you will discover the Twisted Passage. The Traffic Light can be seen flashing at the end of this passage.
Cleansing the Traffic Light
There is a specific mechanic involved in cleansing the Traffic Light: you can only move when the Traffic Light is green. If you attempt to approach it while it is red, you will be sent back to the beginning of the passage.
The process is not overly complicated once understood. The key is to stop moving when the light turns amber and only resume when it turns green.
Upon reaching the Traffic Light for the first time, it will flee into the next room. Simply follow it, continuing to adhere to the same movement rules. Once you catch up to it, interact with it to cleanse it.
Other Altered Items (Brief Mentions)
Langston has several other Altered Items for you to find. These include:
- The Flamingo: Located in the Sealed Threshold Corridor. From your spawn point, turn around and head through the door into a room with empty offices. One office will be lit purple. Proceed through the next door, and you will find the Flamingo. Use Levitate to traverse moving walls and cleanse it.
- The Hand Chair: Found in the Medical Wing, within the room covered in Mold. A chair shaped like a hand will be stuck to the ceiling.
- The Letters: Fast travel to Dead Letters in Executive. The first letter is at the top of the stairs. After clearing enemies, interact with it, and it will begin to move. Wait in one of its stopping points, climb onto the drawers, and hold the interaction button (Square) to cleanse it. The second letter is halfway up the stairs in an office; repeat the process of waiting and interacting.
- The Mannequin: Proceed through Security and the Medical Wing to the Prime Candidate Program. At the end of a long tunnel, you will find the Mannequin. When it activates, multiple mannequins will appear; you must find and cleanse the correct one, located on the left-hand side near the doorways.
- The Rubber Duck: Travel to the Ritual Division in Research. In a cell at the back of the room, you will find the Rubber Duck, but the cell is inaccessible. Navigate through a tunnel to the HRA Lab and enter the room opposite, obscured by crates. Use Levitate to reach a ledge, enter the pipes, and proceed to the room with the Rubber Duck. It will teleport away as you approach, leading you down the corridor until it eventually turns back.
Boss Encounter: Former
Following the cleansing of some Altered Items, you may encounter a boss fight against Former. While not significantly more difficult than previous encounters, be cautious as Former can destroy the floor beneath you. Utilize the Launch ability to target its eye for critical damage and Evade when it attempts to stomp on you.
