Meet the Expert Team
Dr. Margo Weishar, MD
Dr. Margo Weishar, MD, is the founder and lead dermatologist at Springhouse Dermatology & Aesthetics. With 28 years of experience, she established her practice with a vision to empower women in business. Dr. Weishar is dedicated to mentoring and fostering a supportive environment for her all-female staff, aiming for her practice to be a model for women supporting each other.
Dermatology, as Dr. Weishar explains, is a vast field encompassing skin, health, and wellness. Dermatologists treat critical conditions such as skin cancer and autoimmune diseases, alongside common issues like acne, rosacea, and dermatitis. The field has significantly expanded with cosmetic dermatology, offering numerous technologies, injectables, peels, and topical therapies to help individuals maintain skin quality throughout their lives.
The path to becoming a dermatologist involves rigorous training. Dermatologists are physicians with the highest academic credentials, completing competitive residency programs. This includes over 16,000 patient hours devoted entirely to skin over three years. Dr. Weishar, having been a board-certified internist before specializing in dermatology, highlights the extensive education required, including knowledge of pathology, surgery, immunology, and cancer biology. As a cosmetic dermatologist, she also possesses expertise in the physics of laser and energy-based devices, injectables, peels, and medical-grade skincare.
Dr. Weishar has traveled internationally to learn and implement cutting-edge techniques. She often guides patients through the myriad of cosmetic options, helping them form customized plans to achieve their goals. Recognizing the overwhelming amount of information available to patients, she emphasizes the importance of consultations, where she can understand patient needs, discuss goals, and explore treatment options.
Among her favorite procedures are non-surgical options for achieving a lifted effect. She utilizes threads with bidirectional cones that dissolve slowly, stimulate collagen, and provide a natural lift with minimal healing. Technologies like micro-focused ultrasound and radiofrequency are also employed to firm and tighten skin without significant downtime. Dr. Weishar and her expert team design combination treatments that enhance natural beauty and minimize less desired features.
Her deep understanding of both cosmetic and medical dermatology allows for seamless integration, enabling her to effectively evaluate the science behind rejuvenation options and customize plans. The most rewarding outcome for Dr. Weishar is when a patient feels they look like their "best self," confident and attractive, with cosmetic enhancements helping them face the world as they wish to be perceived. She specializes in using a combination of tools-technology, injectables, topical care, and medical treatments-to achieve the most natural results.
Dr. Weishar is a unique combination of a board-certified dermatologist with a long history of excellence in medical care and extensive experience in cosmetic dermatology. She has witnessed the evolution of treatments and possesses the expertise to assess the scientific basis of each option and apply it beneficially for her patients. She also maintains a strong network of colleagues nationwide to share insights and find the best patient solutions.
Dermatology offers a unique connection to patient well-being, as skin conditions are often visible and can indicate broader health issues. Helping patients achieve healthier skin leads to immediate benefits in appearance, quality, confidence, and comfort. Dr. Weishar takes pride in guiding patients toward achievable and safe treatments, focusing on their individual goals and preferences.
She is excited about combining different techniques into comprehensive treatments, moving away from "cookie-cutter" approaches toward creative combinations that address each patient individually. Springhouse Dermatology is expanding its aesthetic offerings by growing its team of aestheticians to complement medical and cosmetic treatments, ensuring all offered procedures are scientifically validated.

Dr. Weishar actively shares her medical knowledge by helping communities both locally and globally. She led a fundraising hike in Upper Dublin, Pennsylvania, to raise awareness and funds for skin cancer prevention and early detection, successfully raising $10,000 for research. In May 2013, she traveled to Kenya to treat patients at the Baraka Health Clinic through the NGO ME to We. Many patients there suffered from conditions primarily resulting from living conditions in rural Kenya, including river blindness, black fly bites, and elephantiasis.

In May 2018, Dr. Margo Weishar and her team organized another community hike in Upper Dublin, Pennsylvania, raising over $10,000 for skin cancer prevention and early detection programs. This initiative was part of a larger campaign by the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) to raise awareness and funds for skin cancer research.
During her time in Kenya, Dr. Weishar treated patients at the Baraka Health Clinic, who traveled long distances seeking medical care. The permanent staff were dedicated to bringing modern medicine to the community. Dr. Weishar was part of a specialized team of dermatologists providing care in rural Kenya, an uncommon offering even among volunteer abroad programs. Patients sought treatment for conditions like river blindness, prevalent in Africa due to the black fly bite, and elephantiasis, a lymph node inflammation caused by mosquito bites or parasitic contact, which can severely impede mobility.
The experience in Kenya was profoundly rewarding for Dr. Weishar, marked by the genuine gratitude of each patient. Despite limited medical resources, patients were hopeful, resilient, and receptive to her expertise. Beyond her medical contributions, Dr. Weishar engaged with and supported animal preservation efforts and participated in the Clean Water Project, dedicated to ensuring access to clean water. She is proud to embody positive change and feels her trip to Kenya has deepened her dedication to treating patients back in Montgomery County.
